Home / Water / Kitchen or bath flood

My kitchen or bathroom flooded. What do I do?

Supply-line bursts and overflowing tubs are the most common 2 a.m. calls in Orlando. The clock starts when the water hits the pad, not when you find it.

  1. Shut the water at the fixture, then at the main valve if it will not stop.
  2. If it is safe, kill power to the wet room at the breaker. Do not stand in water to do it.
  3. Move furniture and rugs onto blocks or out of the room. Do not peel glued vinyl yourself.
  4. Do not run a household shop-vac if the water might be sewage or a toilet overflow. That is category 3.
  5. Call (407) 900-8996. A technician is typically rolling within the hour for a free estimate.

Pad under carpet holds gallons after the surface looks dry. Cabinets wick from the toe-kick up. We pull what has to come out, dry the cavities, and write the moisture maps your insurer wants.
